“The Julia Set”: Nina Hoss gets role in US production alongside Gillian Anderson

Just last September, Nina Hoss was honored with an acting award at the Toronto Film Festival. Now she's in front of the camera for the next US production – featuring an international star cast.
German actress Nina Hoss (50, "Barbara," "Tàr") has landed a role in the US production "The Julia Set." Production company Hanway Films announced the casting of the Stuttgart native for the coming-of-age drama. Details about the role were not initially disclosed.
US actress Gillian Anderson ("The X-Files") and Brit Jason Isaacs, known from the "Harry Potter" series, are already on board. The title character Julia will be played by US newcomer Chase Infiniti (25), who recently made her film debut in the action thriller "One Battle After Another."
"The Julia Set" revolves around a young mathematician who competes in a prestigious competition for math students and must assert herself in a male-dominated field. The script was written and directed by Californian Niki Byrne ("Evan Wood"). According to Deadline.com, filming has already begun in London.
Hoss has frequently worked in US productions, including the spy series "Homeland" and alongside Cate Blanchett in the drama "Tár." Most recently, she appeared in front of the camera for US director Nia DaCosta in "Hedda." The film adaptation of Henrik Ibsen's classic play premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival in September, where Hoss received the TIFF Tribute Performer Award.
